As a child, I loved exploring vocal expression in both storytelling and music. I also enjoyed discerning the subtle intonations, textures, accents and melodies of different speakers, singers and languages. For me, the voice was a truly fascinating and versatile instrument (and so much more portable than a piano) while words were a beautiful form of music.
My little sister was one of my earliest muses, as she would often listen intently to fairytales and stories that I would tell for our mutual enjoyment. Be it in the car on a family road trip or at night in our bunk beds, creating voices and stories for her was a beautiful aspect of our sisterhood and friendship…
