Over the last 4 month, the Arts and Culture Office of the Vancouver Park Board collected diverse personal stories in celebration of Vancouver’s 125th Anniversary.
I was invited to contribute a personal story about my relationship to Vancouver through photos and narration. I decided to talk about the gift of the various communities that I’ve been blessed to know, serve and play with. Before I came to Vancouver, I had no experience with community and it was merely a dream in my heart. To have my dream come true beyond my wildest imagination is nothing short of awe-inspiring!

Here, I furthered my Creativity as an artist and fell in love with Vancouver’s vibrant underground arts culture
Here, I had my first experience of Community and fell in love with the people who have also planted their roots…
I discovered the power of joyful collaboration as we transformed the spaces in our neighbourhood with Music, Dance, Laughter and Intention.
The continuity of these grassroot events allow us to evolve as a Community and as a City.
I appreciate that we are learning how to work and play together…
How to break bread and make peace together…
How to build things and get freaky together…
While I continue to grow as a Spiritual Teacher & Artist, I also grow my gratitude for Family, for Friends and for Community…
As I expand my feeling of Home towards the entire planet. Vancouver will always hold a special place in my heart for being the birthplace of this deep sense of Belonging…
