Big Earl from littlewoo on Vimeo.
Performance art is not just for the high-brow realm…
In August 2012, I brought “Big Earl” to the annual White Trash party which is produced by the infamous Disaster Area crew. He was a big hit with the ladies and had himself a good ole time! Thanks to everyone who sat on his lap, fed him roast pork or fondled his beard!
Legend has it that Big Earl was first discovered when he was accompanying a friend who was competing in the annual World Beard and Moustache Championships. And the rest they say is history… http://www.worldbeardchampionships.com/
Big Earl was originally supposed to make an appearance at the 2010 White Trash party but I didn’t get my costume together in time so went as “Miss Wonderbread Pageant Winner” instead.

In 2009, I’d attended as “Yellow Trash” – a young Chinese mail-order bride with her surly White Trash husband.
Note: Staying in character for many hours is really fun but it can confuse friends who don’t know you very well.

Tibetan Folk Song from littlewoo on Vimeo.
Though not necessarily a lullaby, I felt this song was reminiscent of one with its sweet melody and tone…
Karma’s translation of this folk song:
Listen to me boys and girls
Come join us for the party
and dance the whole night!
Beautiful girls
Don’t leave me alone
Take me with you
for the dances and songs
Finding Karma in Dharamsala from littlewoo on Vimeo.
In April 2012, I visited the town of Dharamsala at the tail end of my trip to India.
In this mountain town where the Dalai Lama lives in exile, many come to connect with Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan culture.
There, I attended a local Tibetan folk music concert hosted by Karma Lodoe. I asked if I could take a Tibetan language lesson and learn a Tibetan folk song from him.
After our lesson, he shared a bit more about his experience escaping from Tibet when he was only 12 years old…
Featuring Keith Arbuthnot, a talented friend of mine who specializes in visual art and special effects!
Keith helped me indulge my special fx fetish as some friends and I spent a summer’s morning applying prosthetic makeup with his wonderful guidance!
Afterwards, we enjoyed some fun on the street at Zombie Walk 2012, an annual affair that draws many zombies out into the open…
